Walking in the Air

Hello Folks!

I’m not sure what levels of festivity are currently being recorded where you are, but the lights and things are definitely coming out in full force around here (not to mention the snow!).   I think that makes it about time to share a little something with you.

Something about listening to Kate Bush’s “50 Words for Snow” sent me on a bit of a nostalgia rush to ‘The Snowman’.  Not so that I could have my way with him like Kate does (it only ends in tears), but in a proper kiddie winter nostalgia way.  I got the video up on YouTube, had a listen to Peter Auty and watched the amazing flight scene again for the first time in years, went to make dinner, and had the song in my head for the rest of the evening.  So I picked up my guitar, and this happened.  It was a bit of a whim, but here you go, something for the festive season  :o)

Words and music: Howard Blake

From Raymond Briggs’ “The Snowman”

Arranged, performed and recorded by Anne-Marie Sanderson

By the way, if you’re not sure which snowman I’m banging on about, it’s this one.  Isn’t he lovely?!

(NB: Not this one….….).
